What is a small nodule

A small nodule is a small mass, which is usually used to describe the thyroid gland and breast, when there is a mass inside the thyroid gland or breast that is relatively small. The benignity of a nodule can be determined by ultrasound or mammogram before surgery, or pathology can be obtained by fine needle aspiration. According to the pathology report, if cancer cells can be found in the tissue, the nodule is malignant. If no cancer cells are found, it means it is a benign nodule. For malignant nodes, unless they are very advanced and have a lot of lymph node metastases, they usually need to be removed surgically.
