Do people’s ears grow with age?

The ears of children and adolescents grow with age, while in adulthood, they basically do not grow unless for pathological reasons. During the growth phase from the neonatal period to adolescence, the ears will grow and develop along with the body’s growth and development. However, the growth of the ear is not endless, and generally by puberty, the shape of the ear can basically approach maturity. In adulthood, most people’s growth and development has basically matured, the size of the ear is also basically stereotyped, it is more difficult to change. However, over-nutrition, hormone abuse, and edema caused by some systemic diseases can involve the ears, resulting in abnormal enlargement of the ears, but this has nothing to do with age. If the patient’s ear size is pathologic, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time to check the cause and condition, and actively treat to avoid aggravation of the condition.
