What’s wrong with thickened adrenal glands

Adrenal gland thickening is usually observed during adrenal imaging, and may be caused by adrenal cortisolism, primary aldosteronism, congenital adrenocortical hyperplasia, etc. It is recommended that further adrenal hormone tests be performed under the supervision of a physician to rule out possible diseases. The adrenal glands are divided into cortex and medulla, and if adrenal imaging describes thickening of the adrenal cortex or medulla, further blood tests for cortisol, aldosterone, and other endocrine hormones may be needed to comprehensively analyze the possible causes of the disease and to determine the current condition. When adrenal gland thickening is detected, professional physicians should be consulted for diagnosis and treatment.
