What should I do if I have chronic sweating, constipation or diarrhea, or poor sleep in diabetes?

We are all familiar with diabetic nephropathy, diabetic foot disease, diabetic peripheral neuropathy and diabetic eye disease as complications of diabetes, but most patients do not know that chronic sweating, constipation or diarrhea, and poor sleep are also chronic complications of diabetes. Chronic sweating in diabetes is called “thirsty sweating” in Chinese medicine and “diabetic vegetative nerve disorder” in Western medicine, which is very similar to the sweating symptoms of menopause in women. However, there is a big difference in treatment. Women’s sweating during menopause is mainly due to a deficiency of both yin and yang in the body and imbalance, so treatment is based on both yin and yang tonicity, as well as regulation of yin and yang; while diabetic sweating is mainly due to a deficiency of both qi and yin, so treatment is mainly based on benefitting qi and nourishing yin on the basis of stable blood sugar regulation. Therefore, it should be treated under the guidance of a specialist.
