High aminotransferase in pregnant women need to be further examined to identify the specific cause of the disease. If it is caused by hormonal changes during pregnancy, rest, liver protection, and enzyme lowering can generally improve; if it is a disease of the liver itself, it requires specialized doctors to rescue treatment, such as hepatitis B patients may need antiviral treatment, and termination of pregnancy may be required, and so on. If the elevation of aminotransferase in pregnant women is caused by the change of hormone level in the body and the increase of liver burden during pregnancy, the elevation of aminotransferase is usually not obvious. In this case, attention to rest, maintain a light diet, appropriate oral liver medication, such as polyene phosphatidylcholine, reduced glutathione, etc., most of them will gradually return to normal. Elevated aminotransferases in pregnant women can also be caused by various liver diseases, such as viral hepatitis, acute fatty liver in pregnancy, intrahepatic cholestasis in pregnancy and so on. Elevated aminotransferases caused by these diseases tend to be more serious and need to be treated under the guidance of specialists, e.g. Hepatitis B viral hepatitis, which may require antiviral treatments such as lamivudine in severe cases; termination of pregnancy is required if necessary.
