How many times should I have chemotherapy for stage II breast cancer?

Stage II breast cancer is relatively early and chemotherapy is effective for all breast cancers. If surgery is done, 4-6 courses of adjuvant chemotherapy will be sufficient. Some patients may not be physically fit for surgery, and this is rarely the case. Pre-operative neoadjuvant chemotherapy should also be done for at least 4-6 courses, which is done to control the progression of the disease and then do radical surgery later. In stage II breast cancer, radical surgery with adjuvant chemotherapy is more effective, and radiotherapy is usually not needed. If the patient’s immunohistochemistry indicates positive estrogen and progesterone receptors, it is still possible to consider combining endocrine therapy, and the overall treatment effect is better, and the 5-year survival rate can reach more than 80%.
