Hai Feng Teng is slightly warm in nature, pungent and bitter in flavor, and belongs to the liver meridian. It is often used in the treatment of wind-cold-dampness paralysis (paralysis of limbs caused by wind, cold and dampness), pain in joints of limbs, muscle tension and stiffness, unfavorable flexion and extension, and bruises. Chicken Blood Vine is warm in nature, bitter and sweet in taste, and belongs to liver and kidney meridians. Its main effects are promoting blood circulation and tonifying blood, regulating menstruation and relieving pain (regulating menstruation and relieving menstrual pain), and relaxing tendons and activating collaterals (relaxing tendons and bones, dredging meridians and collaterals). It is often used in the treatment of irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, rheumatism and paralysis, numbness of limbs. Caution is advised for those with yin deficiency and fire exuberance of Chicken Blood Vine. There are two ways to use Hai Feng Teng: internally and externally; internally it can be decocted in soup, and externally it can be used in ointment formula. Chicken Blood Vine can be used internally in the form of decoction.
