This condition is a typical knee valgus deformity with flexion deformity and is mainly due to degenerative changes in the knee joint. The knee joint, is composed of the femur, tibia and patella in front, as well as the medial collateral ligament, the lateral collateral ligament, the anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments in the middle, and the meniscus on both sides. As we age, the meniscus degenerates, the bone wears away, the cartilage wears away, the outer structure of the knee joint wears away, the inner tissue becomes lax, and the joint space becomes unequal, which results in a narrowing of the outer side and a widening of the inner side, thus forming a knee valgus deformity.
