Glaucoma disease rehabilitation guidance

Glaucoma is a common eye disease with a rapid onset and a high risk of blindness at any time. Pathologically elevated intraocular pressure is the main risk factor, characterized by intermittent or persistent elevation of intraocular pressure beyond the level tolerated by the eye, causing damage to various parts of the eye and visual function, resulting in optic nerve atrophy, reduced visual field, reduced vision, and even blindness. The goal of glaucoma treatment is to preserve visual function. Drugs are first used to lower the IOP to a normal range, and then surgery is performed to control the IOP to a level where the optic nerve damage does not progress further. Common anti-glaucoma surgeries include: peripheral iridotomy, atrial angle dissection, trabeculectomy, ciliary cryopexy, etc. Avoidance of IOP elevation factors: 1. Non-smoking. As smoke stimulates the respiratory mucosa, it is easy to cause tracheal and bronchial coughing, which can lead to an increase in intraocular pressure and induce glaucoma. Therefore, it is necessary to quit smoking. 2, do not drink alcohol, do not drink strong tea, coffee. Because wine, tea and coffee have a sympathetic nerve excitement, sympathetic excitement makes the pupil dilate, atrial circulation is blocked, resulting in an increase in intraocular pressure induced glaucoma acute attack, so try to avoid. 3, do not drink a lot of water at once, so as not to make a sharp increase in blood volume, atrial aqueous formation, resulting in increased intraocular pressure. 4, the collar should not be too tight, do not work for a long time low, to avoid the jugular venous reflux obstruction, resulting in atrial fluid circulation obstruction caused by increased intraocular pressure. 5, do not read in bright light, do not stay in the dark room for too long, it is appropriate to turn on the lights to watch TV, so as to avoid the eyes to adapt to the dark environment, so that the light into the eye to increase the pupil dilatation, atrial circulation is impeded, causing an increase in intraocular pressure. 6, the mind should be stable, excessive mood swings can often cause pupil dilatation, IOP increase, aggravating the condition. Prevention of glaucoma recurrence: 1, should avoid all triggering factors of IOP elevation, maintain a good mood. 2, reasonable arrangements for diet and living, appropriate to participate in some physical exercise, but should avoid excessive bending, head down, breath-holding, weight-bearing activities, so as not to increase the abdominal pressure and cause IOP rise. 3, should not stay up late, avoid eye fatigue, pay attention to the combination of work and rest, reading time should not exceed 30-40 minutes. Before watching TV or movies, it is best to take 1-2 drops of pilocarpine eye solution to shrink the pupil. 4, careful use of drugs, non-surgical eye drops such as atropine, medrolene, tropicamide and other pupil-dilating eye drops are prohibited. 5.Glaucoma patients should learn eye massage and finger pressure measurement under the guidance of physicians, and seek immediate medical attention when high intraocular pressure is suspected. 6. Regularly check visual acuity, visual field, fundus changes and test 24-hour IOP changes. If eye swelling, eye pain, headache, vomiting, sudden loss of vision, etc. occur, you should come to the hospital promptly.
