What’s wrong with itchy skin that breaks out in small rice grains when you scratch it?

Itchy skin with small grains of rice upon scratching could be hives, as hives can occur in some people who experience itching when there are no windbreaks, which may appear later through scratching. However, when these windbreaks first occur, they may appear as rice grains or edema, so they look like small grains of rice. This is usually due to a certain allergic reaction in the body, which stimulates the mast cells in the skin tissue. Scratching leads to a degranulation reaction of the mast cells, and the degranulated histamine irritates the blood vessels and tissues of the surrounding skin, resulting in limited edema and therefore the formation of small wind bumps.
