Di Ji point is located on the inner side of the lower leg, 3 inches below the lower edge of the inner ankle of the tibia, at the posterior edge of the tibia. It has the effects of strengthening the spleen and seeping dampness, regulating menstruation and stopping leucorrhoea (regulating menstruation and reducing abnormally increased leucorrhoea). Di Ji is from “Acupuncture and Moxibustion A Yi Jing” and belongs to the Foot Tai Yin Spleen Meridian. The location of the Di Ji point is on the medial side of the calf, 3 inches below the Yin Ling Quan, at the posterior margin of the medial border of the tibia. The Yinlingquan point is located on the medial side of the lower leg, in the depression between the lower edge of the medial tibial condyle and the medial edge of the tibia. Di Ji point has certain effects of warming the middle and dispersing cold (dispelling cold with medicine that warms the spleen and stomach), consolidating semen and stopping seminal emission (consolidating semen and preventing spermatorrhea), regulating menstruation and stopping leucorrhea, etc. It is commonly used in treating gynecological diseases such as dysmenorrhea, metrorrhagia (excessive menstrual flow or dripping), irregular menstruation, as well as, abdominal pain, diarrhea and other diseases of spleen and stomach, and it can be used in cases of dysuria (unruly urination), edema and other cases where the spleen is not able to transport water and dampness.
