What’s going on with the nodular shadows on the lungs?

Nodular shadows on the lungs may be related to inflammation, old tuberculosis foci, tumors and so on.
1. Inflammation: small nodules, mostly benign, may be produced by inflammatory reactions caused by long-term smoking, environmental pollution, lung infections and so on.
2. Old tuberculosis foci: there is also the possibility of having had tuberculosis, which may leave fibrocalcified foci after curing, which can suggest the leftover foci as nodular shadows when doing imaging examinations, such as chest CT and chest radiographs.
3. Tumor: nodular shadows on the lungs may also be related to lung tumors, if the nodules are relatively large, it can not be ruled out whether they are malignant or not, and further examination is needed to make it clear.
It is recommended that the patient should consult the doctor in time to find out the cause and carry out regular treatment under the doctor’s guidance.
