What does it mean when the echogenicity of the uterine region is not uniform?

The echogenicity of the endometrium of a woman’s uterus is uneven after ultrasound examination, which may be caused by the endometrium not flaking completely after menstruation, or may be caused by endometrial polyps or endometrial lesions such as atypical endometrial hyperplasia or endometrial cancer. In the case of post-abortion ultrasound, if the echogenicity of the uterine area is not homogeneous, it may be due to the accumulation of residual tissues in the uterine cavity, and the cause should be determined according to the woman’s specific situation. For women whose endometrium has not completely peeled off, progesterone capsules or dydrogesterone tablets can be taken during the second half of the menstrual cycle to promote complete peeling of the endometrium. For women with abnormal echogenicity due to endometrial lesions, segmental scraping should be considered, and the scraped endometrium should be sent for pathological examination to confirm the cause.
