Anesthesia is required for circumcision in children.
Taking into account the child’s age and mental maturity, if the child can cooperate with the surgery, the surgery can be performed under local anesthesia, if he/she is unable to cooperate with the surgery, general anesthesia will be required.
Both children and adults need anesthesia for circumcision to avoid severe pain during the surgery. If the child cooperates with the surgery, the surgery can usually be performed under local anesthesia, and if there are no abnormalities after the surgery, the child can go home to rest and recuperate, and usually does not need to be hospitalized.
If the child does not cooperate with the operation, he or she will need to be hospitalized under general anesthesia, and after the operation, he or she will be hospitalized for observation, and can leave the hospital only after his or her condition has stabilized.
If a child wants to be circumcised, it is recommended to choose a regular hospital and consult a doctor in time.
