It is not possible to generalize about whether crystals will form with high uric acid. If the patient’s blood uric acid elevation is persistent, it is more likely to form crystals.
Uric acid is the intermediate product of purine metabolism, when the body temperature of 37 ℃ blood uric acid saturation is 420 μmol / L. If persistently above this saturation point that is hyperuricemia, this time too much uric acid in the joints or precipitation of the surrounding tissues, it is often more likely to form crystals, and induced by acute gouty episodes. If only a single blood uric acid result is high, it does not necessarily lead to the formation of crystals.
It is recommended that patients with high uric acid go to the rheumatology and immunology department of the hospital for consultation, to clarify whether there are crystals under the guidance of the doctor, and to carry out treatment if necessary.
