China classifies chronic plateau disease into four types: plateau erythrocytosis, plateau heart disease, mixed chronic plateau disease and plateau recession. 1, plateau erythropoiesis: in the plateau hypoxic environment, the body long-term chronic hypoxia, the body’s red blood cells and hemoglobin compensatory hyperplasia, clinical manifestations of red blood cells, hemoglobin, red blood cell pressure product increased, and the corresponding symptoms and signs, pathological changes for tissue and organ congestion, blood flow stagnation and hypoxic damage. 2, plateau heart disease: is acute or chronic plateau hypoxia directly or indirectly involved in the heart, causing a unique heart disease. 3.Mixed chronic plateau disease: those who have both plateau heart disease and plateau erythrocytosis clinical manifestations are mixed chronic plateau disease, or Monge’s disease. 4, plateau recession disease: Long-term living in areas above 3000 meters above sea level, part of the migrant population will occur a series of brain and physical decline symptoms. The occurrence of plateau recession disease is related to the long-term low oxygen-induced neuroendocrine dysfunction, microcirculatory disorders and reduced immune function and other factors. In the past, this disease was called chronic plateau reaction, but in 1995, the 3rd National Symposium on Plateau Medicine of Chinese Medical Association named this disease as plateau recession.
