After femoral neck fracture surgery, we should pay attention to strengthening wound care, dietary nutrition, and active and correct rehabilitation training after discharge from the hospital. The precautions and postoperative treatments after different surgeries are slightly different, and should be carried out in strict accordance with the doctor’s instructions. There are two most common types of femoral neck fracture surgeries: internal fixation with incision and reduction and arthrodesis.
1. Internal fixation surgery: hollow tension screws are often used in clinical internal fixation surgery, early postoperative exercises can be carried out in bed on the active contraction of the quadriceps muscle, knee extension exercises, in the medical staff to assist the change of position, can not be lying on the side, cross-legged, etc., after 6 weeks to support the crutches down to the ground, gradually part of the weight-bearing walking, dietary increase in nutrition, eat more calcium-containing foods, such as milk, fish and shrimp, etc., to promote the growth of bone, conducive to the recovery of the fracture. Diet increase nutrition, eat more food with high calcium content, such as milk, fish and shrimp, etc., to promote bone growth and facilitate fracture recovery.
2. Artificial femoral head or total joint replacement: after surgery, you can actively practice active contraction of quadriceps muscle. After 24 hours of surgery, you can go down to the ground with the help of a walker, and at an early stage, you should gradually transition from partial weight-bearing to full weight-bearing, so as to reduce the stress of the affected limbs. When resting, attention should be paid to avoid lying on the side, avoid cross-legged, avoid flexing the hip more than 90 degrees to prevent dislocation of the femoral head.
Femoral neck fracture is mostly seen in middle-aged and old people, it is suggested that postoperative care should strictly follow the doctor’s instructions, and rehabilitation exercises and weight-bearing exercises should be carried out on the ground under the doctor’s guidance in a gradual and orderly manner to ensure a good prognosis.
