Patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia may have a runny nose. Fever, malaise, and dry cough are the main manifestations of novel coronavirus pneumonia, and in a few cases, they may be accompanied by nasal congestion, runny nose, and diarrhea. Some of them only show low fever, mild malaise, no pneumonia manifestation, and mostly recover after a week. If the patient only has symptoms of runny nose, no other discomfort such as fever, and no history of exposure in the infected area, the patient is considered to have an upper respiratory tract infection caused by a common virus and not a novel coronavirus infection. However, if the patient has a history of exposure to the infected area or has been in contact with people with fever and cough symptoms in the infected area, further investigation is needed.
