Cimicifuga and Radix et Rhizoma Dioscoreae need to be soaked, decocted, and concentrated to be boiled into a paste to be taken, which should be boiled under the guidance of a doctor.
Shengdi is raw dihuang, can be soaked in a certain proportion of Cimicifuga and Shengdihuang, and then the soaked drug will be decocted with fire; the decoction needs to be filtered and poured into a pot to be concentrated and skimmed off at any time; and finally, colloid or sugar can be added as needed to simmer, so as to make the paste more thick.
Cynanchum officinale is used for treating hemorrhagic disorders in which blood-heat moves out uncontrollably (heat evil causes blood to go out abnormally) and menstrual stasis (menstrual stoppage due to stasis of blood and obstruction of menstruation), and bruises and other injuries. Sheng Di Huang (生地黄) is used in treating heat entering the camp and blood (heat evil invades the body to a deep extent and the symptoms are more severe), tongue-redness and irritable thirst, spotted rash and epistaxis (vomiting of blood and nosebleed), internal heat due to yin deficiency, and thirst due to injury of body fluids.
Cimicifuga is contraindicated in patients with deficiency of spleen and stomach, deficiency of yin and fire, deficiency of essence and blood. Raw Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata should not be used in conjunction with Veratrum.
