The process of placing a dental crown

The process of installing crowns is mainly divided into several steps, such as preparing the abutment, taking impressions, production casting, and fitting and bonding. 1. Prepare the abutment: Before installing the crown, the first thing to do is to polish and prepare the tooth for the installation of the crown, generally by a professional dentist, according to a certain proportion of the tooth using a high-speed turbine handpiece to polish, so as to prepare enough space for the later production of crowns to make preparations. 2. Making impressions: After the crown preparation is completed, the doctor will use alginate or silicone rubber to make the model out of the mouth and send the model to the processing plant after the teeth are colorimetrically compared. 3. Production casting: At present, there are two types of crowns commonly used in the clinic, metal porcelain crowns and all-ceramic crowns, and the technicians in the processing plant will produce and cast the crowns according to the crowns chosen by the patient and the doctor’s design list, and then send the crowns to the dental hospital after processing and sterilizing them at high temperatures. 4. Trial bonding: After the crown processing is completed, the crown needs to be tried on by a professional dentist to make sure that the produced crown and the edge of the abutment tooth are closed before the bonding agent is used for permanent bonding.
