How long does it take for a baby to lie flat after drinking milk

Babies can lie down for about half an hour after drinking milk to help minimize the risk of spitting up, aspiration pneumonia and even choking.
The period from birth to one year of age is called infancy, and it is a period of vigorous growth and development for babies. During this stage, babies have a relatively high demand for nutrients, but the digestive system of babies at this stage often has difficulty in adapting to the digestion and absorption of large amounts of food, and is prone to digestive tract dysfunction.
After ingesting milk, babies should not lie down immediately and need to be held vertically to burp. There is a risk of spitting up, aspiration pneumonia or even choking if the baby is lying down immediately after ingesting too much milk.
If there is any discomfort, we recommend prompt medical attention.
