An abscess on the chest is considered to be caused by an infection, usually a bacterial infection such as Staphylococcus aureus. It may start as a mosquito bite and become infected with bacteria after the bite. It is also possible that the local skin itching, the patient scratching the chest after causing infection. For the treatment of abscesses, oral antibiotics such as cephalosporin or amoxicillin can be taken for anti-bacterial infection. Topical boric acid solution or furacilin solution can be applied topically, and then fusidic acid cream or compound polymyxin b ointment can be applied topically.
