TPPA is a serological test to detect syphilis infection, which is important for the early diagnosis, detection and control of syphilis transmission. However, TPPA (+) does not necessarily mean that you are infected with syphilis, and is divided into the following cases: First, RPR test (+), TPPA test (+), for being infected with syphilis, need to be treated in a timely manner. Second, RPR test (-), TPPA test (+), there are two reasons, one is the past infection of syphilis, now has been cured or self-healing, TPPA will generally be positive for life; second is the infection of early syphilis, less than 6 weeks when RPR is not yet measured, TPPA than RPR appeared positive time earlier, after 4 weeks need to recheck RPR. third, RPR test (+), TPPA test ( -), most cases are positive due to some laboratory errors or other diseases. Fourth, RPR test (-), TPPA test (-), syphilis infection can be excluded. Therefore, the diagnosis of syphilis requires both positive TPPA and RPR indicators, and a positive single indicator cannot confirm the diagnosis of syphilis.
