Treatment of adenocarcinoma in situ of the cervix

There are three kinds of treatments for adenocarcinoma in situ of the uterine cervix: first, radiation therapy. This therapy is the first choice for patients with adenocarcinoma in situ of the uterine cervix and can be applied to adenocarcinoma in situ of the uterine cervix in all stages. The scope of radiation includes the uterine cervix and the involved vagina, uterine body, paracervical tissues and pelvic lymph nodes. At present, internal irradiation is advocated for early stage adenocarcinoma in situ. For advanced cervical adenocarcinoma in situ, especially for patients with huge local tumor, active bleeding or infected cervical adenocarcinoma in situ, external irradiation is preferred. Second, surgical treatment. Remove the whole uterus of patients with adenocarcinoma in situ through surgery. Surgery can completely cure adenocarcinoma in situ, but the risk of surgery is relatively high, and some patients with adenocarcinoma in situ even have accidents in the process of surgery. Therefore, patients with adenocarcinoma in situ of the uterine cervix must go to regular hospitals to receive surgical treatment. Third, chemotherapy. So far, most of the anticancer drugs are not able to treat adenocarcinoma in situ of the uterine cervix well. Therefore, advanced adenocarcinoma cervix in situ patients can adopt chemotherapy, which has obvious effect, but at the same time brings great side effects to patients, so patients with adenocarcinoma cervix in situ must take active treatment, and don’t delay the best treatment time.
