How soon can you go to work normally with multiple rib fractures?

Multiple rib fractures are relatively common in orthopedics and are usually caused by external violence or direct compression during a fall. Without the occurrence of hemopneumothorax or organ damage, rib fractures can recover and go to work normally in about 2-3 months. This is because fractures require three stages of healing: the first stage is the hematoma mechanization evolution period, which takes 2-4 weeks; the second stage is the primary bone scab formation period, which takes 4-8 weeks; and the third stage is the bone scab encapsulation period, which takes 8-12 weeks. Rib fractures follow this same principle, so the recovery period is about 2-3 months. The treatment method is to fix the rib bandage or chest elastic bandage with appropriate elasticity, take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving drugs orally as well as bone-setting drugs, apply anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving ointment and blood-stasis dispersing ointment externally, and pay attention to light diet combined with reasonable exercise for early recovery.
