Interstitial Nephritis Symptoms and Treatment

Interstitial nephritis is treated differently due to its division into acute interstitial nephritis and chronic interstitial nephritis. For acute interstitial nephritis, anti-infective (cefixime), renal replacement or glucocorticoid (prednisone acetate) treatment is feasible; chronic interstitial nephritis is mainly treated with symptomatic and supportive treatments such as controlling blood pressure (valsartan) and correcting anemia (polysaccharide iron). 1. Acute interstitial nephritis (1) Clinical symptoms include fever, rash, joint pain and back pain, oliguria or anuria and renal failure in severe cases. (2) The treatment of acute interstitial nephritis includes removing the cause of the disease, supportive therapy, and glucocorticoids. Among them, removing the cause of the disease mainly involves stopping the use of suspicious drugs and rationally applying antibiotics (cefixime); supportive therapy mainly involves symptomatic treatment, such as timely treatment of hyperkalemia, pulmonary edema, and renal replacement therapy if necessary; in addition, glucocorticoids (prednisone) can also be applied to treat the disease. 2.Chronic interstitial nephritis (1) Clinical symptoms of chronic interstitial nephritis mainly include nocturia, proteinuria, anemia, hematuria, aminoaciduria and glycosuria. (2) The treatment of chronic interstitial nephritis is mainly to actively remove pathogenic factors (such as stopping the use of related drugs, removing infectious factors), correcting electrolyte disorders, acid-base balance imbalance, correcting anemia (polysaccharide iron), controlling high blood pressure (valacyclovir) and so on, to slow down the progression of the disease, and if necessary, feasible renal replacement therapy. All of the above drugs need to be used in accordance with medical advice. Interstitial nephritis is recommended to go to the regular hospital in time, follow the doctor’s instructions for relevant examination and treatment, so as not to delay the condition.
