What causes chills?

Chills can be caused by physiological factors as well as diseases, such as infections, anemia, hypothyroidism and so on.
1. Physiological factors: such as low temperature, wearing less clothing, etc., can cause chills.
2. Upper respiratory tract infections: when the body’s immunity is lowered to induce viral and bacterial infections, fever can lead to chills, weakness, dizziness, headache and so on.
3. Iron deficiency anemia: Insufficient iron intake and iron absorption disorders are common triggering factors, and the disease can cause coldness, weakness, tinnitus, palpitations, shortness of breath, dry skin and other discomforts.
4. Hypothyroidism: the disease is related to iodine deficiency and insufficient synthesis of thyroxine. When the metabolism is abnormal, it can cause the body to feel cold, pale, limb edema, indifferent expression, dry skin and other symptoms.
Therefore, the causes of chills are very complex and need to be identified under the guidance of the doctor in conjunction with the patient’s medical history and accompanying symptoms so that they can be treated systematically.
