Spots on the face are often chloasma, freckles, age spots, etc., which are manifested as brown deposition spots of different shades. Different medications can be chosen after the etiology is clear, such as 2%~4% hydroquinone preparation.
1. 2%~4% hydroquinone preparation can be used for melasma, which competitively inhibits tyrosinase activity and directly destroys melanin vesicles or melanocytes, but it has side effects that may lead to irritation or allergic contact dermatitis, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation spots or rare brownish yellowish disease. Hydroquinone preparation with retinoic acid can enhance its decolorization treatment effect.
2. Freckles can be treated with 2%~4% hydroquinone preparation combined with fruit acid in addition to sun protection.
3. Age spots, also known as senile keratosis, are dark brown flat papules with a tendency to expand slowly. These diseases can be improved by avoiding sun exposure and using sunscreen. It can be treated with laser, cryotherapy or 5-fluorouracil topical treatment.
If you have spots on your face that require medication, it is recommended that you consult a dermatologist at a regular medical institution and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment.
