How to treat acute suppurative tonsillitis

The treatment of acute purulent tonsillitis mainly includes general treatment, application of antibiotics, local treatment, surgical treatment and so on.
1. General treatment: patients should pay attention to bed rest, give liquid diet, drink more water, etc.
2. Application of antibiotics: penicillin is often used for treatment. If the therapeutic effect is not good, other antibiotics such as ofloxacin and erythromycin can be used or glucocorticosteroids can be used as appropriate. Common glucocorticoid drugs include prednisone, dexamethasone and so on.
3. Local treatment: Compound borax solution, furacilin liquid and so on can be applied to gargle. In case of high fever, antipyretic and analgesic drugs, such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen, can be given appropriately.
4. Surgical treatment: applicable to those who have repeated attacks or have existing complications. Tonsillectomy can be performed after the inflammation subsides (at least 2 weeks later).
If there is any discomfort, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time for diagnosis and treatment. The use of specific drugs should be under the guidance of a doctor.
