What could be a small fleshy growth on the upper eyelid?

A small growth of flesh in the upper eyelid area may be caused by a papilloma virus infection known as a wart, or it may be associated with a chalazion. 1. Warts: The skin of the eye is relatively tender, and when a viral infection occurs, it is possible to form wart-like growths, with papilloma virus infection being the most common. Warts can increase in size over time, affecting the patient’s appearance and even producing symptoms such as a foreign body sensation in the eye. If you zoom in and observe, you can find that the surface of the growths is cauliflower-like or papillary. 2. Chalazion: If the outlet of the upper eyelid of the patient is blocked, a cyst will be formed, which is called chalazion, and the patient’s eyelid may appear as a bulging swelling. If the chalazion is secondary to infection, the eyelid may become red, swollen, hot and painful. It is recommended that patients with chalazion formations be seen by a physician for evaluation and treatment as prescribed by the physician.
