How serious are varicose veins?

The severity of varicocele does not depend on its size but on its signs and symptoms. Varicose veins are categorized into four degrees of severity: First degree varicose is when ultrasound suggests a varicose vein, but it cannot be felt and there are no symptoms. Second-degree varicocele means that the varicose veins can be felt by hand but cannot be seen from the surface of the scrotum. Third-degree varicose veins are varicose veins that can be seen on the surface of the scrotum with the naked eye without palpation. Fourth-degree varicocele means that there are obvious varicose veins on the surface of the scrotum and there are symptoms of scrotal drop. Generally, II degree or above is more serious and can cause discomfort such as scrotal drop and hidden pain. At the same time, if the patient has severe scrotal distension, pain and other discomforts or with sperm abnormality, teenage patients with testicular volume reduction is also more serious. For the third and fourth degree of varicose veins patients need to undergo surgical treatment such as spermatic vein ligation. If the patient is not feeling well, he should consult the doctor in time for examination and early treatment.
