Large amount of sticky discharge from the eyes

If a patient has a large amount of mucous discharge from the eye, then this is a case where the patient is considered to have inflammatory changes in the eye, most commonly conjunctivitis. Conjunctivitis is the most common clinical eye disease in ophthalmology, and the most common symptom of conjunctivitis is a foreign body sensation in the eye. Some patients experience conjunctival congestion and a large amount of discharge from the eyes. Generally, the nature of the discharge can be used to initially determine which condition is causing the conjunctival inflammation. If there is a large amount of viscous discharge from the eye, it is usually considered to be caused by a bacterial infection, in which case it is recommended that the patient use effective and sensitive topical antibiotic drops to spot the eye and pay attention to personal hygiene during treatment. Generally, with topical medication, the patient’s conjunctivitis will be cured and the discharge will be completely eliminated.
