#Is snoring related to high blood pressure# Most people may think that there is no inevitable connection between the two, when you or your family members (mostly middle-aged men) are fat, short and thick neck, red face and snoring in sleep, you have to go to the hospital in time to measure your blood pressure, this kind of patient is known as Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) in medicine, which is commonly known as snoring, accompanied by high blood pressure, and polysomnography monitoring shows that an apnea (which means that it makes the airflow of respiratory tract stop) for more than 10 seconds is known as apnea in medicine. A single pause (i.e., stopping airflow through the airway) of 10 seconds or more on polysomnography is known as apnea. Patients with these symptoms and high blood pressure should check their respiratory system. Simply lowering blood pressure will not control your blood pressure satisfactorily. The cause of sleep apnea is divided into two aspects: one is caused by airway obstruction, breathing airflow obstruction, caused by apnea; the second is central, the central nervous system itself or respiratory muscle lesions, peripheral neuropathy caused by apnea. In obstructive sleep monitoring apnea syndrome patients more than 50% of the complications of hypertension, and primary hypertension patients, more than 30% of the combination of chronic obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. Treatment should start from daily living habits, overweight people control diet, increase physical activity, weight loss, alcohol cessation, careful use of sleeping pills. Snoring can be aggravated by supine position, resting in side position is recommended. Mild and moderate obstructive sleep apnea syndrome patients can be treated surgically, wearing dental trays and so on can relieve the symptoms. For moderate and severe patients, the main treatment is to take transnasal continuous positive pressure respiration therapy, while taking antihypertensive medication. Severe patients with acute episodes should be immediately sent to the hospital for rescue, tracheotomy and other treatments.
