Is it okay to leave the foreskin open and bare overnight?

Patients should not turn the foreskin overnight, because in the process of turning the foreskin, it may cause the foreskin to be embedded, that is, after turning the foreskin by itself will cause local edema of the foreskin, and cause local tension to rise. If not restored to its original position in time, it may lead to gradual aggravation of the edema, resulting in acute pain and difficulty in recovering again, a situation known as foreskin imbrication. Severe foreskin imbrication can even cause ischemia and necrosis of the glans, so it is not recommended that patients turn over the foreskin to expose it on their own. It is recommended to go to the hospital for circumcision to remove the excessively long foreskin to prevent it from covering the glans, which can lead to increased local secretions or itching and other symptoms. Especially for patients with prepuce, if they turn the foreskin over on their own, it is more difficult to return to the original position because of edema and the increased local tension of their prepuce, which can cause more intense pain, so it is recommended to go to the hospital instead of turning it over and exposing it on their own.
