The amount of time a patient should wear sunglasses after a full femtosecond procedure is uncertain because each patient’s postoperative recovery is different and cannot be generalized. Asymptomatic patients may not need to wear sunglasses after surgery, while patients with significant discomfort may need to wear sunglasses for about 2 weeks.
If the patient does not experience any discomfort such as photophobia or tearing after TFA, sunglasses are not necessary. If the patient is afraid of light, tearing and other discomfort symptoms after TFA, he/she needs to wear sunglasses when going out to avoid too much light irradiation to prevent the discomfort symptoms from worsening, he/she may need to wear sunglasses for about 2 weeks, the specific time is related to the patient’s recovery situation.
It is recommended that patients follow the doctor’s instructions for care, regular checkups, and timely consultation after discomfort occurs.
