What’s with the trembling tongue?

Tongue trembling is considered to be related to mental factors, hypoglossal nerve palsy, hyperthyroidism, Parkinson’s syndrome and so on. 1. Psychological factors: For some people with excessive mental tension and anxiety, tongue trembling may occur, and it is easy to be accompanied by other symptoms such as limb trembling and sweating. 2. Hypoglossal nerve palsy: It is mainly related to cerebrovascular disease, brain tumor, craniocerebral trauma and so on. Some people with hypoglossal nerve palsy may have trembling of the tongue, which may be accompanied by other symptoms such as dysphagia, dysarthria, detachment of the tongue and inability to retract, edema or atrophy of the tongue, and so on. 3. Hyperthyroidism: the disease is related to diffuse toxic goiter, multinodular toxic goiter, heredity and other factors. Patients often have tachycardia, weakness, excessive sweating, weight loss, hyperphagia, inattention, hand tremor and other symptoms, which can also be manifested as trembling of the tongue, protruding eyes, and so on. 4. Parkinson’s syndrome: mainly related to Parkinson’s disease, head trauma, infection, etc., easy to cause tongue tremor in some patients. Some people with Parkinson’s syndrome may show reduced motor function, balance disorder, muscle stiffness, cognitive dysfunction and so on. It is recommended that people with trembling tongue should consult regular hospitals for examination, and if it is clear that it is caused by the disease, they should actively cooperate with doctors for treatment in order to improve the uncomfortable symptoms.
