Menorrhagia is a term used in Chinese medicine to refer to menstrual bleeding that is not at the right time, but is not stopping or dripping. If the menstrual blood flows out of time and does not stop, it is called collapse or menstrual collapse; if the menstrual blood does not end, it is called leakage or menstrual leakage. Although the bleeding conditions of the menstrual cycle are different from those of leakage, they often transform into each other, so they are called “menorrhagia”. Menorrhagia is a menstrual disorder in which the menstrual cycle is severely abnormal in duration and quantity. The main pathogenesis of menorrhagia is due to the damage of the flushing and the inability to control menstrual blood. There are many causes of damage to the flushing process, which can be summarized as deficiency, heat and dizziness. If there is deficiency of qi, the menstrual blood is not regulated; if there is heat, the menstrual blood moves delicately; if there is halo, the menstrual blood leaves the menstrual flow. The four most common clinical types are kidney deficiency, spleen deficiency, blood heat, and blood stasis.
