Is there a difference between presbyopia and astigmatism?

There is a difference between presbyopia and astigmatism. Presbyopia is a condition in which the ciliary body of the eye hardens and thickens with age, and the ability of the eye’s ciliary muscles to regulate the ciliary muscle weakens, resulting in the eye being unable to focus and form a clear image of an object when viewing objects at close range. Presbyopia is an age-related condition that usually occurs after the age of 40 and requires presbyopic lenses to treat. Astigmatism is a kind of refractive error, mostly caused by congenital irregularities of the corneal surface. When parallel rays of light enter the eye, due to the difference in refractive power of the surface of the eyeball, the object image cannot be converged into a single point, and a clear image cannot be formed, which is manifested by the lack of clarity of vision at distance and at close range, and needs to be treated with astigmatism glasses.
