What’s wrong with hollow nails?

Hollow nails can be caused by trauma, lack of trace elements and fungal infections.
1. Trauma: If the finger nails are excessively squeezed or smashed, it will lead to bruising inside the nail and the nail plate, which will make the nail flesh separated, and thus the nail may appear to be hollow.
2. Lack of micronutrients: If the body lacks calcium and other elements due to prolonged malnutrition, the lack of such elements may lead to the symptoms of hollow nails.
3. Fungal infection: when the skin fungus invades the nail plate or under the nail, it will cause the patient to develop nail moss, also known as gray nails, which will make the nails appear hollow, and there are white powdery objects in the nail.
When the patient has the symptoms of hollow nails, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination and diagnosis in a timely manner, and choose the corresponding treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
