High uric acid may cause shoulder pain, but shoulder pain symptoms may also be caused by frozen shoulder and rotator cuff injury.
1. High uric acid: most patients with elevated uric acid will not show obvious clinical symptoms, but patients with persistent elevation of uric acid may develop gout, and gout attacks can lead to shoulder pain and redness. Therefore, high uric acid may cause shoulder pain.
2. Frozen shoulder: Frozen shoulder is an inflammation of soft tissues such as muscles, joint capsule and bursa around the shoulder joint, and patients may have gradually aggravated pain in the shoulder and upper arm and limited shoulder joint activities.
3. Rotator cuff injury: rotator cuff injury is a disease in which the muscles around the shoulder joint are torn or ruptured, and patients may have pain and swelling in the shoulder after the injury.
There may be other reasons for shoulder pain, so patients are advised to go to orthopedics, rheumatology and immunology departments of regular hospitals for further consultation and treatment according to doctors’ instructions.
