How to tell the difference between a normal uterus and a bowed uterus

The distinction between a normal uterus and a bowed uterus is made by physical examination, ultrasonography, and other imaging tests. The normal uterus is an inverted pear shape that is slightly flattened from front to back and has a triangular cavity that is wide at the top and narrow at the bottom. A bowed uterus is characterized by a shallow depression in the middle of the uterine fundus, but the extent to which this depression can be defined as a bowed uterus is debated. Bowed uterus is usually asymptomatic, and a depression in the uterine fundus may be detected on physical examination. Diagnosis is made by ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging, and iodine oil imaging of the fallopian tubes. Bowed uterus is not usually treated with special treatment, but in case of repeated miscarriage, hysteroplasty can be performed as appropriate. If there is any discomfort in the clinic, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time.
