What’s this swelling next to my neck?

A swollen bag next to the neck may be caused by cervical lymphadenitis, cervical lymph node tuberculosis, sebaceous cyst, or other causes such as lymphoma.
1. Cervical lymphadenitis: cervical lymphadenitis is considered to be caused by pathogen infection such as hemolytic streptococcus and staphylococcus aureus. Patients will have fever, headache, fatigue, chills, enlarged cervical lymph nodes, sore throat, cough and other manifestations. If the patient has cervical lymphadenitis, there will be the symptom of a swollen bag next to the neck.
2. Cervical lymphatic tuberculosis: Cervical lymphatic tuberculosis is considered to be caused by pathogens such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis through blood or lymphatic infection. Patients will not only have enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, but also have fever, fatigue, night sweats (sweating abnormally after going to sleep, but sweating stops after waking up), loss of appetite and other symptoms.
3. Sebaceous cysts: Sebaceous cysts may be caused by the blockage of the sebaceous glands of hair follicles and the accumulation of sebum to form cysts. Patients will have round hardness medium cysts, the size of the cyst is egg or peanut-shaped. Therefore, sebaceous cysts may appear as a swelling next to the neck.
4. Others: Lymphoma, lipoma, congenital cervix and other diseases can also lead to a lump on the side of the neck.
It is recommended that patients with a swollen neck should consult a doctor in time and choose the appropriate treatment after clarifying the cause of the disease.
