Thyroid grade 5 generally refers to a grade 5 thyroid nodule, which is not considered advanced or early, and is classified as benign or malignant. According to the TI-RADS classification of thyroid nodules, thyroid nodule grade 5 indicates a highly suspicious malignant nodule with a risk of malignancy of greater than 90%, with the higher the grade, the higher the degree of malignancy. However, a grade 5 thyroid nodule cannot be diagnosed as thyroid cancer at this time, so a grade 5 thyroid nodule is neither considered advanced nor early. Patients with highly suspicious malignant nodules may be considered for a thyroid puncture biopsy to determine the nature of the nodule, and may also be considered for surgical treatment. Patients with grade 5 thyroid nodules are advised to go to the hospital and ask the doctor to make a judgment based on the patient’s specific condition and give a treatment plan.
