How long it takes for a woman to recover from a diagnostic curettage

Rest is usually required for about 5 days after diagnostic curettage, and depending on individual differences, some patients may need to rest for 2 weeks. Usually the endometrial damage caused by curettage takes 1 month to fully recover. Diagnostic curettage is a common gynecologic test that involves scraping the endometrium for pathologic histologic examination. The rest period varies depending on the woman’s condition. If a woman is in good health, she can go about her normal life and work after the curettage without discomfort and vaginal bleeding stops. If the woman is in weak health, the rest period can be extended according to the situation. In general, the results of diagnostic scraping pathology are available in about 3-5 days, and attention is paid to further treatment based on the diagnosis of the pathology results. Since the damage caused by diagnostic scraping to the endometrium takes 1 month to repair normally, sexual intercourse and tub bathing are prohibited for 1 month after the operation to avoid causing reproductive organ infection. After diagnostic curettage, attention should be paid to preventing infection, getting plenty of rest, maintaining balanced nutrition, and paying attention to vaginal bleeding.
