How to treat sclerotic foci in the liver

Intrahepatic sclerotic foci are usually caused by abnormal deposits of calcium salts within the fibrotic tissues after liver fibrosis during the regression of chronic hepatitis, parasitic infections, tumors and other diseases. Most of the intrahepatic calcified foci do not have clinical manifestations, and most patients are found to have intrahepatic sclerotic foci during physical examination. The discovery of cirrhotic foci should be further examined to clarify the primary disease, and treatment should be directed at the primary disease after it is identified. If it is caused by chronic hepatitis, antiviral treatment should be given according to the viral load; if it is caused by liver abscess, amoebic liver abscess and other diseases, anti-infection treatment should be actively given; if it is a tumor, comprehensive treatment should be given according to the tumor pathology results and clinical stage grading. In some patients, the cause of intrahepatic sclerosis foci cannot be found after examination, and this kind of single intrahepatic sclerosis foci without obvious causes can be temporarily left untreated and regularly reviewed in hospital. In conclusion, intrahepatic cirrhotic foci are not an independent disease, but a special manifestation formed in the process of regression of various liver diseases, so there is no special treatment for cirrhotic foci, and the main focus is on the treatment of the primary disease.
