There is no difference between a mammogram and a breast DR exam, they are the same test. Clinically, breast DR examination, also known as mammography, is an X-ray examination of the breast. It usually involves four X-ray exposures from four sides of the breast: upper, lower, and both sides, so as to examine all aspects of the breast for lesions. Although the test is generally harmless, it is important to wear protective clothing when performing the test for patients who are pregnant or expecting a baby. Mammography can effectively detect breast-occupying lesions and microscopic breast lesions; it can detect breast cancer at an early stage; and it can initially identify known breast nodules as benign or malignant. However, the examination cannot confirm the benign or malignant nature of the lesion, and further fine needle aspiration biopsy is required to confirm the diagnosis, so please consult a professional physician for specific advice.
