What are the people who should be cautious of using San Ren Tang?

San Ren Tang should be used with caution for people with yellowish and greasy tongue coating, and whose heat is more important than dampness.
San Ren Tang is composed of Almond, Slippery Stone, Tong Cao, Cardamom Kernel, Bamboo Leaf, Hou Pu, Job’s Tear, Semen Xie, etc. It has the efficacy of promoting and relaxing the flow of Qi, clearing dampness and heat. The adverse effects of this formula are not clear.
It is mainly used in the initial stage of dampness-warmth (warmth disease caused by feeling dampness-heat) and summer-warmth and dampness of dampness-heat evidence, with clinical manifestations of headache, cold, heavy pain, tiredness of limbs, yellowish color, chest tightness, no hunger, body heat in the afternoon, white moss, no thirst, and thin, moist pulse, etc. It is also used in the treatment of heat-heat disease caused by dampness-heat. Therefore, it should be used with caution for people with thick and greasy tongue, heat over dampness, etc., otherwise it may easily lead to aggravation of the condition.
