How long does breast reconstruction surgery last?

Reconstructive breast surgery is usually performed when the breast is completely removed after breast cancer surgery and a breast is reconstructed through the latissimus dorsi and rectus abdominis muscles. The reconstructed breast is usually permanent, and all aspects of the breast tissue can be preserved permanently after reconstruction, and basically will not be deformed. It is possible that the muscle of the latissimus dorsi or rectus abdominis may atrophy over time, but this is rare. Once this happens, it can be further improved by other surgical methods. If sometimes after breast reconstruction, the size and shape of the breast tissue may not fully meet the patient’s needs and require some post-operative adjustments, breast prosthesis can be filled under the reconstructed breast tissue to appropriately increase the breast volume and enlarge the breast tissue to meet the patient’s requirements.
