What is your baby’s speech development like? How old are they when they can understand adults?

A baby’s language development generally goes through three stages, from just pronouncing words, to understanding and finally being able to express themselves. around 6~7 months can understand their own name.
During the newborn period, babies can express themselves by crying, babbling at 3~4 months, understanding adults calling out their names at 6~7 months, unconsciously pronouncing “daddy, mommy” at 7 months, and saying simple words at 10~11 months.
At 1.5 years of age, they can say the names of the main family members; at 2 years of age, they can say sentences consisting of 2 to 3 words; at 3 years of age, they can say short rhymes; and at 4 years of age, they can tell simple stories and sing songs.
As your baby continues to grow, the language will become richer. Some babies who are lagging behind in language need timely hospitalization for appropriate guidance and treatment.
