In recent times, I have encountered some of these patients in the burn surgery specialist clinic. These patients have three characteristics when they come to the clinic: firstly, they have come to the clinic for a long time from the time of injury, ranging from 3 to 7 days. Secondly, they are not treated properly after the injury, either by going to a non-specialist hospital and giving saline and abusing antibiotics. Either to the drugstore to buy a burn cream topical application, and some external application of toothpaste, soy sauce, purple potion, etc.. Third, the wound is generally deepened, red and swollen, and pus is flowing when they come to the clinic. Such patients also have three characteristics in treatment: First, the treatment time is prolonged due to wound infection. Secondly, the total cost of treatment increases. Third, due to the deepening of the wound, it is mostly scar healing, and some require surgical implants to repair the wound. Therefore, regardless of burns or scalds, in addition to special factors, generally first rinse with cold water or cold compresses, and then wrapped in a clean cloth sheet and sent to a burn specialist hospital, to a specialist to give formal treatment. For larger area burns, the timely delivery or not directly affects the treatment effect. Sincerely advise burn patients and family members, do not treat the injury yourself, and wait for several days to find the trauma deterioration before coming to the clinic, by then the treatment effect will be greatly reduced, and the time and cost will increase.
